This residence is located in the northwest corner of Long Island in the village of Sands Point. The house is a typical New England saltbox that is nestled at the edge of a small woodland grove with a wide open pastoral view overlooking Long Island Sound.

The project area is just under three acres in size and allows for the development of some interesting and varied outdoor environments. The overall concept of the project was to create a series of outdoor experiences that offer unique settings and opportunities around the property by developing and augmenting the current topography and layout. Some of the key outdoor rooms include a Woodland Glen, Sunken Shade Garden, Pool and Patio, Flower and Cutting Garden, and the Meadow. Within each of these larger spaces smaller and more intimate experiences will be developed.
